The RVTC has a 60-day processing review time from the date a complete application package is received to establish and transmit eligibility approval to the testing vendor. If a candidate's application is incomplete and/or supplemental documentation is not received, (i.e. official transcript or copy of diploma; and if applicable, letter(s) of good standing) processing time can take longer than 60 days.
Once eligibility is established, the candidate is sent an examination handbook directly from the testing vendor with instructions for scheduling an examination date along with a list of all available PSI testing sites. Candidates have 6 months from their approval date in which to schedule their examination. The approval expiration date is printed on the back of the examination handbook. Applicants who are unable to appear for their scheduled examination, must notify the testing vendor at least 2 days prior to their scheduled examination in order to be rescheduled with no additional fee.
Candidates must provide one of the following valid forms of government-issued photo identification in order to be admitted to the testing facility: non-expired government issued driver's license; non-expired government-issued identification card (state or military); non-expired passport; or a current student identification card. The name on the photo identification must be the same as the name used to register for the examination (including designations such as "Jr." or "III", etc. Failure to provide appropriate identification at the time of your scheduled examination is considered a missed appointment, and the candidate will not be admitted to the testing facility. If the required identification listed above cannot be provided, the candidate must contact the RVTC before scheduling an examination with the testing vendor.
